Cornerstone Collective of Churches was born out of a replant of a small church on Ramilies Road, in Liverpool in 2009. This church later became Cornerstone Church Liverpool and had church planting and revitalising as a central part of its vision (you can read more about the history of Cornerstone Liverpool on its website here). After planting Cornerstone Church Wirral in 2013, and with plans afoot for the launch of Liberti Church, Lark Lane, Cornerstone Collective of Churches was formed in 2018 to help support and strengthen the existing churches in the Collective, and to catalyse the planting and revitalising of additional churches across the Merseyside region.
Our communion as churches is rooted in the communion we have with God because of our union with Jesus Christ. We are all individual members of the body of Jesus Christ (the universal Church) expressed in autonomous local contexts. As a communion of churches partnering together, there are distinctive convictions and values that define us as a collective and unite us together. For the Collective to exist and thrive, it is vital that we are unified and have communion around the following three areas:
