One of the key areas of the work that Cornerstone Collective seeks to do is to support and strengthen our churches, and those who want to partner with us.
A primary way in which this exists is through the relational support of our Pastors, our Elders and our wider Staff Teams. It is an acknowledged fact that many Pastors can find themselves experiencing significant isolation in their roles in churches, so the Pastors of Cornerstone Collective churches work closely together, supporting each other to minimise the risk of their own isolation. This has enormous benefits for them as individuals, and consequently for their churches. The wider Elders and Staff Teams also experience relational connections with each other in the Collective, and we are convinced our churches are strengthened as a result of the relational benefits the Collective brings.
A more practical way in which the Collective supports and strengthens its churches is by working to remove the weight and time consuming aspects of operational management of a church by running these aspects centrally through the Collective - essentially it enables church Pastors and Planters to focus on their pastoral roles.
There are two ways in which this works currently. This first applies to the majority of the churches in the Collective, and this is where the churches are autonomously lead by their own Elderships, but the operational elements of running the church all fall under the one charity, overseen and actioned by the Operations Director.
The second way is for churches that have legal registration separately (e.g. as an existing CIO), they can choose to partner with the Cornerstone Collective through our work - this was the case with Orrell Park Baptist Church, which was revitalised by the work of the Cornerstone Collective, and they have remained partnering with us in our theological, relational and missional communions. These communions are the fundamental building blocks of the Collective for the churches in the Collective, if you’d like to find out more about partnering with us, please click on the button below.
